Zonta Club of Mid-Maryland would like to recognize Senator Kamala Harris for being elected the first African-American/Asian-American Vice President of the United States. She was born to a Jamacian Father and Eastern Indian Mother in Oakland, California in 1964.  In tribute to her illustrious carreer as a State Prosecutor for the State of California  to State Senator of Califonia and now holding the second highest position in the United States as Vice President.  She is an Alummus of Howard University which she double majored in Economics and Political Science.  She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority on campus.  She later became Senator representing California during the Obama Administration,as many barriers have been broken with the support of women of color and the women sufferage movement.

Our first Virtural 2020 Annual Retreat which will be on Saturday August 22 from 9:30am to 12:00pm.  The theme will be " A Time to Reconnect".  In these unprecedented times which Zonta Club of Mid-Maryland will be having all club meetings on-line.  We will continue to host Advocacy and Service events to help in the advancement of young girls and women.
