Free the Girls Bra Campaign
“Free the Girls BRA Campaign”
The Zonta Club of Mid-Maryland is collecting new and gently used bras for its Free the Girls Bra Campaign. These bras can help change the lives of former enslaved and sex-trafficked girls and women worldwide. There are over 20 million men, women and children being held as slaves around the world. A majority of the enslaved are women and girls who are forced into sex-trafficking. Some amazing organizations are rescuing these women and providing them with restoration and educational opportunities. However, they have limited resources.
Bras collected through the Free the Girls campaign will be given to rescued girls and women to sell in their local marketplaces. Thus, enabling them to support themselves and pay for shelter, food, clothing and education for themselves and their children.
Goodwill stores, Amvets, and most U.S. used clothing businesses do not accept undergarment donations, including bras. So, most end up in the landfill. The Free the Girls Bra Campaign provides an opportunity for you to put your gently used bras to good use and make a difference in the lives of former enslaved and sex-trafficked victims.
The drop-off location for Zonta Club of Mid-Maryland’s Free the Girls Bra Campaign is at Mane Envy Salon & Spa, 6806 Race Track Road, Bowie, Maryland 20715
